Korean Liberation Day(National Holiday in Korea) (8.15) called "Gwage Bok Jeol'(in Korean)

Korean Liberation Day, celebrated on August 15th, is a significant, important and meaningful national holiday in South Korea
that commemorates the end of Japan's colonial rule over Korea.
It marks the day in 1945 when Japan surrendered to the Allies leading to Korea's liberation from Japanese occupation
which had lasted for almost 36years.
1945,August 15 at noon, Emperor Hirohito announced a decree about the Japanese surrender.

During the colonial period, which began in 1910
Korea endured cultural suppression(not to use Korean,so Korean peope must speak Japanese, which is one of the cutural suppressions) , forced labor(almost enslaved and forced to be sent to warship island in Japan to mine, they couldn't survive from the island), economic exploitation, and other forms of oppression under Japanese rule.
This day symbolizes the restoration of Korea's sovereignty and the country's regaining of its independence.

Korean Liberation Day is celebrated with various events and ceremonies including speeches, parades, exhibitions,
and cultural performances.
It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices(such as Yoo Gwan-sun, Patriot. she fought against Japanese milities for our independence only with the national flage, which is called "Tae Gek Gi" in Korean, she was high school student and died in prison by the Japanese tourture and didn't see our independence from Japan) made by those who fought for Korea's freedom
and highlights the nation's determination to maintain its sovereignty and protect its hard-earned independence.

You will be able to visit the resting palces of patriots.
